Rose Cross Story Time - Chapter 7

Wataru

Alright! We should start heading! I"m gonna pass out everyone train ticket. Here's yours, and yours.....♪

Hokuto

Stop shrieking like you're in Bancho Sarayashiki. Do you have to put on an act for everything you do?

Tomoya

Umm.....where exactly are we going? I have a train pass, you know?

Wataru

It's a little far away, so just let me handle the train fare!

Wataru

I go all over the place to watch plays, so I can buy tickets with a discount. And then I don't want to go through the trouble of having everyone pay me back.

Hokuto

Say, Tomoya, you take the train to school too? I wonder why I never to see you on the train.

Tomoya

Don't we go the opposite direction?

Tomoya

Actually, now that I think about it, I do run into you sometimes when. But you're always reading some complex book or something, so I don't want to bother you.

Tomoya

Oh, it'd be fine! You can talk to me whenever.....Here, why don't we walk to the station together next time? Like after club training or something.

Tomoya

Wow, that makes me so happy! It might be kind of hard, though, I usually have Unit lessons after theater club.

Wataru

Yes, yes, I know you guys are good friends now, but can we get to the show? The show is popular so I went through quite the hassle to get these tickets.

Wataru

I actually was on a long waiting list to get tickets for all of us.

Wataru

Just so happens, though, that I saw Anzu-san this morning......

Wataru

And we wanted to take a break from school anyway, so I made her hang out with me. One thing led to another and she negotiated and helped me get the tickets.

Hokuto

You should stop causing Anzu so much trouble, Buchou ! What kind of show are we watching anyway?

Wataru

We're watching the play, Rosy Cross Story Time . Actually, the play we're working on is written by the same people.

Wataru

The premise of the play and direction are quite different than the one we're doing, but I thought we could learn a thing or two from watching it.

Natsume

Hmm, I've been wondering since you mentioned the name, but Rosy Cross....would that have anything to do the secret society of the Order of the Rosy Cross? If that's the case, I'm so in....♪

Wataru

That's right, Natsume-kun, you've always loved all things esoteric.

Wataru

Anyway, it's roughly based off of that secret society, but you should probably know that the story in this play has been reimagined in a bold and imaginative way!

Tomoya

Wait, what? A secret society? It's not a story about prince and princesses....?

Wataru

You really need to study a little more, Tomoya-kun.

Hokuto

The Order of the Rosy Cross (Rosicrucianism) is a well-known secret society.

Hokuto

Human beings inevitably grow old, get sick and die, right? So the Rosy Cross Society studies ways to prevent this. In other words, they're trying to seek ways of immortality.

Tomoya

Oh, I see. So this play is also about immortality, huh?

Tomoya

I think I get the connection, The princess I'm playing, she hides her identity and belongs to a secret society, and that secret society is the Order of the Rosy Cross, right? Though, I really don't know much about secret societies and stuff....

Natsume

For someone who dabbles with the occult, these things seem like common sense to me.

Natsume

But these things also pop up in manga and stuff, too. Like haven't you heard of St. Germain or Alessandro Cagliostro?

Oh! I know Cagliostro! Wasn't the L*pin the Third movie about that?

Wataru

Huhuhu. So you know that much, huh? That means you'll be able to follow along with more obscure plays too, or really any play for that matter.

Wataru

The point is, it's important that we go see actual performances, Tomoya-kun.

Wataru

So you can learn more, see more and grow more, okay? You'll definitely surpass yourself and become....Amazing.....☆

Natsume

When you can't be bothered to explain something, you just prescribe it as Amazing, don't you, Wataru-niisan?

Natsume

But I guess once you've reached Nii-san's level of acting, I don't think there's anyone else you can learn from.

Wataru

That's not true! To live is to learn. No matter what it is, there is always more to learn.

Wataru

Remember, insufficient learning is not the fault of the teacher. The problem lies with the student.

Wataru

Besides, there's always someone better, someone who knows more....that's what I believe!

Hokuto

Right, if there's no one better, then life would be pretty disappointing.

Hokuto

It's easy for me 'cause I have people like you and my mom who are already thorns in my side. Both of you have given me a target to aim for.

Wataru

Oh, your mother, huh? She's a well-known actress.....

Wataru

Somehow, I get the feeling she doesn't like me very much. The time I met her, I was told to "Quit acting!" by her.

Wataru

Sorry about that. My mom's a child like that. She despises young people with talent.

Hokuto

But think of it this way, if she has no interest in a person, she wouldn't even bat an eye at them. So I think she actually really adores you.

Wataru

Hehehe....♪

Wataru

Hmm? Did you find something funny, Tomoya-kun? Tell me ☆

Wataru

No, sorry, it's nothing. It's just we don't really talk a whole lot about things like how we get to school or about our parents and stuff. This is kind of fun.

Tomoya

Plus, when you guys are talking about acting, your eyes get all sparkly~ I guess you two really love theater, don't you?

Wataru

Yup! You should always join a club that you love! Haven't you come to love theater a little more too, Tomoya-kun?

Wataru

It's fun, isn't it? Let's share this joy of theatre together♪

Hokuto

If we didn't love it, we would have left the club a long time ago. We don't particularly enjoy your cruel ways of training, you know.

Hokuto

You should really come to grips with that. I mean, Tomoya-kun and I are the only ones still in the club...even though hoards of people originally joined.

Wataru

Huhuhu. If I can get rid of your passion for theater just by making you endure some hard training, then you should just get out of the club ASAP.

Wataru

In a way, I'm actually doing those people a favor!

Wataru

Anyway, this is important so take note of this, Tomoya-kun.

Wataru

For this princess role, you need to blow off all of your anxieties and boldly let your passion shine.

Personify this passion and show it with your whole body! If you perform in this way and you'll have no fear of anyone!

Wataru

This is the kind of princess you need to play. I know you can play it! That's why I bestowed this character on to you.

Wataru

You can do it! I believe in you, so you should believe in yourself too.

Wataru

And Hokuto-kun and I, we will become the princes who will protect your precious passion with all our might.

Wataru

Alright, we could stay here and chat all day, but we should get going! The play isn't going to wait for us!

Wataru

Someday, we will be able to relish every little part of this grand stage we call life.....♪
